High Woods Farm is a 45 acre small holding in the glorious English countryside with two self catering holiday cottages, The Burrows and Mole End.   It sits on the doorstep of the North Yorkshire Moors, bordering Forestry Commission land with access to miles of bridleways and footpaths for walkers and cyclists.  A haven for bird watchers and nature lovers alike!

Shallowdale Valley offers escape and relaxation away from the pulsating everyday stress of urban life.  The sheltered valley, midway between between the villages of Ampleforth and Wass, boasts panoramic views across the Howardian Hills, idyllic picnic sites and is home to abundant wildlife.

High Woods Farm is committed to the restoration and enhancement of the existing species-rich sloping meadows, and to re-establish the ancient skill of coppicing to regenerate woodland glades.  While providing a natural source of firewood it also gives a carpet of wild flowers and diverse habitats for plants, insects and animals.

Whilst surrounded by natural beauty and free roaming wildlife, the unique quality of High Woods Farm is enhanced by its proximity to the picturesque market town of Helmsley and a short drive away from the historic city of York.  An hour’s drive over the North Yorkshire moors brings you to the dramatic coastline of Scarborough, Whitby & Filey.  The historic Ampleforth Abbey and Ampleforth College, with sports facilities open to the public, are both only 2 miles from High Woods Farm.

Such peace & tranquillity will appeal to those looking for a holiday cottage in an unspoilt rural location complete with wildflower meadows and flora and fauna of all varieties.  Children will find High Woods Farm a boundless adventure playground where they can freely explore the diverse terrain.

Pets are welcome by prior arrangement.
